Approach on site
There is no insulation without detailing. Corner, sill and junction solutions are settled before work starts; that is the only way to build a façade without thermal bridges.
Fixing boards is the easy part of external insulation. Performance and service life are decided in the details: corner beads, under-sill returns, window reveals, the base course start and the roof junction. Where gaps remain between boards or the fixing pattern is inadequate, the façade develops thermal bridges and surface cracking. We begin with substrate preparation, checking that the wall is sound and flat enough to build on. Boards are set in a staggered pattern, mesh reinforcement is lapped, and additional reinforcement is used at corners. The finish coat is selected for the orientation and exposure of each elevation.
