Approach on site

Fit-out decisions are taken while the shell is going up. Once opening sizes, service routes and level differences are settled in advance, the need to correct things later inside largely disappears.

On villa projects the trouble usually sits at the transition from shell to finishes. If service routes, opening sizes and floor levels are not fixed early, the interior ends up absorbing compromise after compromise. We therefore put fit-out details on the table while the shell is still being built. Junctions between timber lining, stone surfaces and plaster are resolved with one detailing language, and dimension-critical items such as cabinetry and worktops are made to measurements taken in place. In rustic interiors the grain and joints of timber are not concealed; the material is left visible and the quality of the connection carries the room.
