Approach on site
We start landscaping from the levels. No surface is laid before the question of where water goes has a clear answer. With the sub-base built correctly, the surface stays sound for far longer.
The visible part of landscaping is planting and paving; the part that holds it together is levels and water. So we resolve site levels and where surface water goes before anything else. Where drainage and sub-base are not built correctly, stone surfaces settle, joints open and root zones drown. On paths and seating areas, stone thickness and sub-base are selected for the load that will actually cross them. Retaining elements and kerbs are sized for the ground conditions. For planting we favour species that can establish on site, and irrigation and maintenance needs are discussed from the start.
